New in Room 2

Here is your weekly Room 2 update.

Homework
The week 5 assignment has been posted on this blog. Click the link on the right of this blog page to see what is in store for you this week.

Remember, for those who don't have a computer at home you can use the class computers every morning, from approximately 8am until the start of the day bell.

Grasshoppers Tennis
The last session took place for Grasshoppers Tennis last week. It would be great to see our students follow this up by joining the Masterton Tennis Club this summer. Mr Nelson and Mrs Hodgkinson had a Grasshoppers training session last Monday, so we will be looking forward to taking the class in the future for sessions with all of the school's new tennis equipment, which came with the Grasshoppers programme.

Sport
As with every weekend, it was great seeing Room 2 students playing weekend sport. Mr Nelson went to see some of our boys playing soccer, and both Mr Nelson and Mrs H had a look at some of the netball games.

Great to see so many Room 2 girls in the senior girls' soccer team, who had their first last week. Well done to Savana-Rae and Sarah, who scored the goals in our 2-0 win.

ICT
The student websites are starting to look good. Last week they added website links to the maths page on their sites. The student sites can be accessed by clicking the links on the right hand side of this blog page.

Primary Enterprise Programme (PrEP)
We will be starting PrEP this week with a barter exchange on Tuesday. For this to be successful everyone will need to bring along something to trade.

French
We have a new unit starting in week 5. The unit will be on pets. Check out the Let's Learn French blog for a heads up on the names of animals that you may have as pets at home.

Te Reo Maori
The weekly Te Reo blog has been updated. Click the link on the right hand side of this page to check it out and keep up your Te Reo Maori learning.

Camp
This will be taking place at the end of term 3. In the next week or so students will be given the opportunity to sell tickets for a raffle. All proceeds will go towards students individual camp funds, so the incentive is there to go out and earn as much as you can through ticket sales. A HUGE thank you to Suzy Lewis for organising the prizes for the raffle.

Later this term we will also be selling chocolates to raise funds, again with all proceeds going to individual camp accounts.
