We have had a very busy first week back in Room 2. Here's a summary of some of the things we've done in Week 1.
Assembly Certificate Winner
Congratulations to Sophie for being our assembly certificate winner. Sophie was selected because of the excellent attitude she has towards everything she does as a student at Lakeview School.
French
We spent Week 1 revising what we did in the first term. It has been great to see that Room 2 students have retained almost all that was covered in Term 1. To make sure that this continues to be the case we will continue revisiting previous topics. Students can also regularly check out older posts on our French language blog.
Our next topic will be on the family. Don't forget to check out information on our French blog to give you a heads up on what we will be doing in class.
Mr Nelson is looking forward to two days of French professional development on Friday and Saturday of the upcoming week.
ICT
All of the student websites are now linked to this blog. You can access them by clicking on the names of students that you can see on the right hand side of this blog. Don't forget, these sites are a work in progress.
Syndicate Sports
We will be starting a new competition, field ball, in syndicate sport this week.
Homework
You can now access weekly homework by clicking on the link that you can see on the right hand side of this page. New homework will always be posted on Monday mornings.
Maths
Students will continue working in classes across the syndicate for maths. This is to ensure that they a groups with students of similar ability.
Tennis
The students had there first tennis session last week, and there will be a second session coming up on Wednesday afternoon.
Please remember to pay your $2.00 so that you can take part.

ReplyDeleteI reakon that revising once we have done a leason is probably the best way of learning because it gets hammered in to our head like a nail in a piece of wood!
ICT is normally fun except when we kicked off for being on the wrong site (8 ball pool)! BTW- its not a laughing matter...
non stop cricket was fun except I couldn't do it the whole year because of band... I probably can't do field ball eathier because of band :(

HI IT'S ME AGAIN
ReplyDeleteSYNDICATE SPORT: For syndicate sport we have been doing non-stop crickit. It was fun(but now we are doing feild ball). Mr nelson told us the teams for non-stop crikit today and 4 people in our class got in but he said it was a hard choice. From our class it was 2 girls and 2 boys.
HOMEWORK: Last week we started to do something different. We started to put our homeork on the class blog. I think that that was a good idea because people will actually try and get it done, I hope. I love doing homework because it helps you learn much more and I love leaning. Leaning gives you much more brain power and you can prove someone wrong from it.
ICT: We are luck to be in Mr Nelson's class because we get to do ict about three times a week, sometimes even more. It is very fun he is teaching as lots about computers. Mr Nelson has helped us to make a web mail for ourselves. We always go on it and make adjustments. We even get to choose the colour of the font!
184 WORDS YAY!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow Rm 2 I have just been reading all these comments. I love the way you all congratulated Sophie for getting the weekly class certificate. You did do a good job Sophie. Remember guys to practice your punctuation and grammar and paragraphing when you comment here. This is all for practice too.
ReplyDeleteKeep working hard. You are a great bunch and we do have lots of fun in Room 2. Thanks Mr Nelson for doing this blog site. It's a great way for us to communicate as a class.
See you Monday everyone,
