More from Room 2

What's been happening in Room 2? Read on to find out.

Speeches
Students are now presenting their speeches. The first lot of students did them on Friday, and the remainder will get through them early this week in preparation for the syndicate finals that will take place on Wednesday. Good luck kids!

Sport and PE
After not taking place last week due to Queen's Birthday weekend, we have our second rippa rugby session on Monday, then a final session the following Monday. This will lead up to the local rippa rugby tournament later on in the year (the date for this will be announced as soon as we find out).

A number of Room 2 students will be taking part in the inter school cross country on Wednesday. To all of the seniors taking part in the event, do your very best to represent Lakeview School in the most positive way.

French
We have now just about completed the first half of the Oui! French unit. This is pretty impressive, as we aren't even halfway through the year yet, and it's very rear for any class to complete all of the units that make up the programme in one year.

Te Reo Maori
There is a new lesson up on our Te Reo Maori blog. This week's lesson is on counting from 11 to 20.

Topic Studies
The programme with the police will be in full swing this week. Keeley will be coming in to work with Room 2, with topics covered focusing on students being well informed to make positive and safe choices in their lives.

We are also still working on PrEP, although it will take a bit of a back seat as as we work through the police unit.

Mr Nelson and Mrs Hodgkinson spent the day on Wednesday learning about the Take Action for Water unit that we will be doing in term 3. This looks like it's going to be a lot of fun and very interesting.

Homework
A new sheet for this week has been posted on our blog. Remember, the class computers are available in the morning before school if you don't have one at home.

Weekend Sport
It was great to see again so many Room 2 kids taking part in sport over the weekend. Both Mr Nelson and Mrs Hodgkinson always enjoy seeing Room 2 students getting involved in sports and fitness activities.
