Last week was was not the week we expected to have, with two snow days keeping us at home on Monday and Tuesday, and parent interviews (learning discussions) being postponed as a result. Nevertheless, there was still a lot achieved in the three days that school took place.
Wairarapa Chess Tournament
Great to see that four Room 2 students represented the school on Friday. Well done to Joe, Danny, Corben and Josh I, who all played six games over the course of the day. A special mention to Joe, who won four, drew one, and lost one of the six games he played.
Field Ball Tournament
It seems to me that every week we comment on the final of the field ball tournament, and every week it is postponed for one reason or another. Let's hope that we finally have our finals day on Friday afternoon!
Parent Interviews (Learning Discussions)
It's great to see the great response from our parents re attending the learning discussions this week. Just about 100% turn out is expected! The positive working relationship between school and home is one of the most important factors in the education of a child. This is certainly happening in Room 2!
Camp
Camp is now only a matter of weeks away. For our students to attend this fantastic week of education outside the classroom, all camp and technicraft fees need to be paid before camp takes place. it's not too late to start paying the cost of the camp in weekly installments.
To help pay for camp most of the students will be bringing home a raffle sheet this week. All money made from selling tickets will go to the individual sellers, so there is a real incentive to go out and sell as many tickets as you can!
French
We have reached Unit 11 of the 'Oui' unit. This is a unit of revision activities. A big part of the revision for all Room 2 students will be to visit our French blog and look at all of the posts that have been done so far this year.
Te Reo Maori
This week's post on the Let's Learn Te Reo Maori blog is on days of the week.
Homework
A new sheet has been posted on our class blog for Term 3, Week 4. You will see the link to the sheet on the top right of this blog.
Yeah the chess torniment was really cool. the only reason i drew with that kid was cause he was taking three minutes to move one piece and we played for the whole four minutes.
