At the time of this being written there is just one day till school starts again. Hopefully everyone is felling refreshed and are looking forward to the final eight weeks of the school year. For our Year 8s, this will be their final term before heading off to college!
Here are some things to look forward to:
Your Teachers
Mrs Hodgkinson will continue to teach on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Mr Nelson will teach the class every Thursday.
Te Reo Maori and French
The Let's Learn Te Reo Maori and Let's Learn French website blogs will continue for the next eight weeks. If you're feeling a little rusty with either of the two languages, take the time to visit the websites to revise what has been covered so far this year.
Homework
The new sheet has been posted on this blog. You can access it through the link on the top right of this page.
The Three Rs
Maths and literacy programmes will continue right up to the end of the year. We aim to keep the kids engaged right up to the last day, making the most of all time available to prepare them for 2012, whether it be for college or their final year at primary school.
Topic
There is more to do on the Take Action for Water unit. The action starts now, with the children looking to see how they can contribute to making our valuable fresh water reserves stay just that, fresh!
PE and Sport
Athletics will be the first sports topic for the term. School athletics are only a few weeks away. From the school event, we are looking forward to seeing many of our students qualifying for the inter-school event, which takes place in late November.
The Year 8 Dinner
This will take place near the end of the term. This is a very special event that celebrates what it is to be a Year 8 at Lakeview School. Many of our Year 7 students will have the honour of being selected to serve the Year 8s on the evening.

ReplyDeleteI don't want thjis year to end becouse i don't want to go to colage but i will have and i am happy i am in room 2 for the term of the school year grrrrrr this year has gone so fast it isn't funny and i wish it didn't go so fast but i guess time goes fast after a good year yay!!!! but in other was would this year ever end but is will end when it needs to i can't belive tha all balks won on sunday night yay!!!

finally camp is over .it was a awesome experience . i can do alot of stuff i had never done before!

One of the weather names in french isn't what i thought it would be and in te reo maori we learnt the times in maori for math.

Man this year has gone so fast! wish it was longer and i hate holidays!they take to long to come back to school! and also there is nothing to do in the holidays i only went to the movies with Zoe.

this years athletics will be cool as. last years regionals athletics was MEAN everything is way harder over there.

camp was awesome we did lots of stuff it was on the last week of school and now it is the first week of school causer im good at maths so i knew it was the last week of school and now yeah im good as at maths !!!!!!

ReplyDeleteYAY ! back 2 school , school has been abit hard , and alot of work to be finished but .. 1 week , got to get used 2 it :) SCHOOL , mr nelson also , tyeaching us the weather in french lat term was pretty COOL , :P because of camp but , camp was mean but .. its OVER and soo is our holiday soo back 2 school :O :)

Canoe polo was fun(practice). Reps was fun but the rain poured down on us (practice).

i loved camp camp would of got a 8 or 9 out of 10 but beacuse of harley doing all that he rewend alot of things i rated camp 5 out of 10 thank you mr nelson for incrouging me too try abeisiling or i would not of done it

Camp was really fun,cool and tiering we heaps of things to do it never got boring at camp it was just tiering when it got to Thursday.

camp was cool except for orienteering to much walking and it was hard to find the things so yeah i didnt like it and i didnt like the lake walk and the water slide was so YUCK (barish)
